Armed Forces Academy of GEN M. R. Stefanik (SVK AFA) also this year participated at annual conference Quality Assurance Forum (QAF), held on 14th – 15th of October 2025 in Helsinki. SVK AFA was represented by CAPT Ladislav CANI from International Courses Department. This year's host of the event was the Finnish Defence Forces International Centre (FINCENT). SVK AFA as a NATO accredited educational institution has been actively involved in international cooperation in the field of Quality Assurance of NATO approved courses provided by NATO COEs, NATO ETFs and PTECs.
The main mission of the QAF is to strengthen cooperation between NATO accredited Education and Training Facilities (ETFs) in accordance with NATO Quality Assurance (NATO QA) standards. The forum creates space for sharing best practices, exchanging experiences (LI/LL) and building connections between individual institutions and the HQ Supreme Allied Command Transformation (HQ SACT). QAF annually contributes to improving the quality of courses, to developing standardization in the field of education within NATO and to supporting future applicants for accreditation in the NATO QA program.
The program also included two thematic syndicate works in three syndicates. The first part was dedicated to the resilience of educational activities and risk management, the second focused on the continuous improvement of educational and training institutions. A significant point of the conference was that the conclusions of the second syndicate work of the first syndicate were summarized and presented to the forum participants by CAPT Ladislav CANI.
QAF represents an important tool for further development of the NATO QA program and supports the unification of education quality standards within NATO. We are pleased that next year, this important international event will be hosted in Bratislava.
