The 26th International Staff Officers' Course (ISOC) was opened at the Armed Forces Academy of General Milan Rastislav Štefánik in Liptovský Mikuláš on February 14th, 2022, with an introductory presentation in which the Chief of the International Courses Department, Lt. Col. Ing. Jozef Kuchta introduced its participants to the mission, structure and tasks of the academy and acquainted them with the course.
The ISOC 26 course is attended by 14 officers in the ranks of 1st lieutenant to major from the Slovak Republic, 6 officers in the rank of 1st lieutenant from the Czech Republic.
In the first week, students expanded their language skills in English and improved their communication and knowledge of military terminology in that language. In the following weeks, students will become acquainted with the use of units of various specializations and services and organizational structures of individual combat units at the tactical level. Later, students will gain the basic information and skills needed for military decision-making.
During lectures and exercises, they will prepare for joint action at all stages of preparation and planning at the tactical level and master the planning and conduct of military operations in English in accordance with NATO standards across the spectrum of conflicts in the international environment.
The course is scheduled to end on April 14th, 2022.
