On Monday, September 18th, in the premises of the Armed Forces Academy of gen. M. R. Stefanik, 29th International Staff Officers' Course (ISOC 29) started. After the initial week, in which 29 students refreshed their language skills, the course continues with professional training. Its participants will be meeting for 9 weeks and on November 16th 2023, the course will be closed by official ceremony and handover of certificates to the graduates.
The participants of ISOC 29 are 16 officers from the Slovak Armed Forces in the ranks of captain to major, 4 officers from the AFA, 5 first lieutenants from the Czech Republic a captain from the Republic of Korea and for the first time representatives from Jordan Armed Forces, 3 officers in major rank.
In the first week, the students expanded their English language skills and improved their communication and knowledge of English military terminology. In the following weeks, they will become familiar with the capabilities of the units and the doctrinal framework for their use at the tactical level. Later, they will acquire the basic information and skills necessary for the military planning and decision-making process.
During lectures and exercises, course participants will prepare for joint action in all phases of preparation and planning at the tactical level and will master the planning and conducting of military operations in English in accordance with NATO standards in the entire spectrum of conflicts in an international environment.
