On May 14th – 15th, 2024, NATO School Oberammergau (NSO) in Germany hosted the 23rd Conference of Commandants of Partnership Training and Education Centers (PTEC). Armed Forces Academy of general Milan Rastislav Stefanik was represented by LTC Martin Chovanec.
The participants of the conference from 25 centers were familiarized with updated information especially in the field of military education and training through representatives of several NATO components (NATO Headquarters Brussels, NATO Allied Command Transformation in Norfolk). They also had an opportunity to discuss the recommendations and proposals of the PTEC working group from the previous meeting and the 2025 action plan.
Other essential part of the conference was guided discussion in the syndicates. It focused on an example of a mutual form of cooperation of joint projects among the centers, experience and proposals for development in the field of leadership within the centers, and on examples and proposals for the support of military education and training for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The host institution presented the system of planning and conducting of the courses, the forms and possibilities of online education and delivery of the courses via mobile training teams. The conference ended with a speech by the Commander of NATO School Oberammergau, COL Jay Smith.
Community of PTEC grows from year to year and a good news is that in March 2024, Joint Warfare Training Centre from Qatar became 35th member of PETEC.
