Course description:

The Advanced Command and Staff Course (ACSC) 
is a full-time, career-focused educational program 
for Slovak Armed Forces officers, preparing them 
for ranks – lieutenant colonel and colonel.
The course, organized by the Professional Military 
Education Centre, is designed to equip participants 
by enhancing their cognitive abilities along with 
analytical decision-making and communication 
skills. Additionally, the course  aims to expand their 
professional knowledge and perspective through a comprehensive understanding of single service, joint and combined operations in accordance with NATO standards.

Type of study: full-time studies

Requirements regarding course participants:

• officer already appointed to the position with a planned military rank of lieutenant colonel / colonel and do not meet the requirements for the aforementioned military rank
• officer with a military rank of major, who have completed at least half of the service period in the military rank and with whom there is an intention to appoint to the position with a planned military rank of lieutenant colonel and do not meet the requirements for the military rank
• officer who have achieved the required level of English language proficiency according to NATO STANAG 6001 for the military rank of lieutenant colonel / colonel, or meet the conditions for inclusion in the course according to Article 5 paragraph 6 of SP HSÚ 109/2022.
