Based on the request of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AF BiH) and the plan of approved activities of the NATO DEEP Bosnia and Herzegovina (Defence Education Enhancement Program) program for the year 2022, an educational activity aimed at planning operations at the operational level of command took place from June 28th to July 1st 2022.

An international team composed of experts from the Armed Forces Academy of General Milan Rastislav Stefanik (AFA) and the University of Public Administration - Ludovika (L-UPS) from Budapest, under the leadership of the academic leader for the field of military education in AF BiH LTC Martin Chovanec, Ph.D., prepared a shortened version of the program of one of the courses provided by the  International Courses Department of the Education Center of AFA.

During four days, LTC Jozef Kuchta, MJR Miroslav Majtner, LTC Dr. Sandor Szabo and Levente Kovats, tried to master the issue of operational planning based on the COPD (Comprehensive Operational Planning Directive) using presentations, mini-exercises and guided discussions.

The NATO DEEP BiH program supports the development and reform of selected educational and training facilities of the BiH Armed Forces in the field of military education of officers and non-commissioned officers and language education through several educational and training institutions of NATO countries and partner countries. The main reason for the departure of the international team was the requirement to prepare instructors for the Command and Staff Course aimed at educating future lieutenant colonels of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and representatives of the Training and Doctrine Command.
