From 28 to 29 October 2025, the Armed Forces Academy of General Milan Rastislav Štefánik in Liptovský Mikuláš hosted a high-level delegation from the National Defence and Research University (NDRU) and the Military Academy of the Republic of Armenia within the framework of the NATO DEEP Armenia.

The delegation was led by Major General Albert Baghdadyan, Commandant of the NDRU, and included senior officials responsible for military education, training, research, policy planning and methodology at the Armenian Ministry of Defence.

The visit focused on strengthening cooperation in the field of professional military education and higher military studies. Key discussion themes included:

•    education quality assurance and accreditation processes,
•    development of higher military education and lifelong military training,
•    career development courses for armed forces personnel,
•    instructor preparation and NATO certification processes,
•    simulation-based training and capability development.

The Armenian representatives attended briefings by AFA leadership, visited the Simulation Centre and held professional meetings with the Professional Military Education Centre. At the end of the visit, they delivered  presentations about their educational institutions and introduced the transformation process of the Armenian Armed Forces to participants of the Advanced Command and Staff Course.

Both sides expressed willingness to further enhance cooperation in academic and professional military training, exchange instructors and explore participation of Armenian officers in training solutions offered by the Slovak Armed Forces Academy.

The visit reaffirmed the importance of international collaboration in building modern and interoperable military education systems and strengthened friendly relations between the Slovak Republic and the Republic of Armenia.
