September 19 - 29, an intensive training course titled Military Leadership C – Physical Training, focused on the disciplines of military pentathlon, took place at the Norwegian Defence University College (NDUC) in Norway. The Armed Forces Academy of General Milan Rastislav Štefánik was represented by four cadets of the Academy together with LT SCUROKOVA.
The course program included a wide range of theoretical and practical activities aimed at military readiness, physical fitness, and teamwork. Participants improved their skills in disciplines such as HK416 rifle shooting, grenade throwing, obstacle course running, obstacle swimming, and 8-kilometer cross-country run. In addition to sports activities, there were also professional lectures on injury prevention, performance optimization, and military psychophysical preparedness.
The competition consisted of five demanding disciplines testing the participants’ overall fitness, precision, and endurance:
shooting
grenade throwing
obstacle course
obstacle swimming
trail running
In addition to an excellent team result, our competitors achieved outstanding individual successes:
Martina Hubková – 1st place in shooting
Terézia Klementisová – 1st place in running
Tomáš Kunic – 1st place in swimming
Michal Zuštiak – 1st place in running
These achievements are a testament to their diligent preparation, perseverance, and strong team spirit. “The strength of the team lies in each individual, and the strength of each individual lies in the team.”
The event reflected the spirit of international cooperation – cadets from various countries had the opportunity to learn about the Norwegian Army’s approach to training, exchange experiences, and compare their abilities with peers from other military academies.
LT SCUROKOVA who led the cadets during the course, praised the high level of organization, the professionalism of the instructors, and the excellent physical preparedness of the Slovak cadets.
“This course was not only a challenge but also a valuable experience for our cadets. They gained new knowledge, established contacts, and tested their endurance and discipline in demanding conditions,” she stated.
The exercise concluded with a formal ceremony and awards presentation, followed by a cultural program.
