On 19th of December a lecture by Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, General Philippe Lavigne, was given at Armed Forces Academy of Gen. M.R. Stefanik. The lecture was about the main mission and objectives of one of the key NATO headquarters, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
During the lecture, General Lavigne explained in detail the individual areas of operation of the Headquarters. He put main focus on innovations, planning and NATO Warfighting Capstone Concept.
The activity was attended by Chief of the General Staff of Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic, General Daniel Zmeko, lead and management of Armed Forces Academy (AFA), cadets of AFA and members of the Commands of the Land Forces, the Air Force and the Joint Operational Command as well as the Military Medical Command, members of Special Operations Force and Joint Support Brigade. During the final discussion, the audience was interested in areas related to artificial intelligence, creation of concepts, data sharing, digitalization of the battlefield, implementation of new weapons and systems, cyber security and NATO collective logistics.
Subsequently, a dynamic demonstration of the capabilities of the C2 (Command & Control) system was presented to the delegation of NATO headquarters by the commander of the 6th signals regiment in Trencin, COL Miroslav Miskovic.
At the end of the visit, premises and capabilities of Simulation Center of AFA were presented.
