In the week of November 7th - 11th 2022, the Armed Forces Academy of GEN. M.R. Stefanik was visited by 23 students of the Brigade Staff Officer Course in Romania. Together with their instructors and the representative of the foreign activities of the National Defense University in Bucharest, they took part in the joint exercise Chopok, which is part of the ISOC 27. In addition to members of the Romanian armed forces, participated also representatives of Moldova, Georgia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Korea.
Students worked in 4 mixed groups, which gave them the opportunity to exchange experience and knowledge in the field of planning at the tactical level. During the exercise, emphasis was placed on joint activity in all phases of preparation and planning at the tactical level according to NATO standards and mastering the planning and management of military operations, of course in English language.
At the end of the week, all of them participated in the field exercise, during which they had the opportunity to check the result of their planning.
For the first time in history, two NATO Professional Educational and Training Centers conducted a joint exercise within the framework of similar courses taking place in individual institutions. The commanders of both courses evaluated the joint exercise as beneficial and they would appreciate to continue in this cooperation also in the future.
