On October 14, 2025, a full-day teacher training session titled "How to Make Writing Fun and Appealing for both Teachers and Students" took place at the Language Institute in Liptovský Mikuláš. Mgr. Lenka Stromková from the Department of Social Sciences and Languages also took part in the training.

The first part, led by Mgr. Katarína Scheerová, focused on the most common mistakes in written performance during the STANAG 6001 language exam at levels 1, 2, and 3.

The second part of the training was conducted by Matthew McGeever, Assistant Director of English at International House Bratislava. It was divided into four practical blocks, each targeting different aspects of writing – starting from sentence-level work, moving through paragraph structure, and concluding with writing style and student assessment. Teachers had the opportunity to try out a range of activities that can be easily implemented in their own teaching.

The training was highly beneficial for our department. The methods and activities presented can be directly applied in the classroom, helping make writing development more enjoyable, engaging, and effective for students.
