Mobility opportunities from military educational institutions are mainly published on the EMILYO platform, which brings together educational activities offered by partner military academies and universities. Selected mobilities may be implemented within the Erasmus+ programme, which provides financial support for student mobility.
1. Mobility Selection
Students may search for mobility opportunities on their own initiative (e.g. from the offers of partner universities or on the EMILYO platform) or respond to current Erasmus+ mobility calls published by the Department of Science and International Relations.
Students may choose from the following types of mobility:
Study mobility – completing a part of the study programme at a partner higher education institution abroad.
Duration: usually 2–12 months.
Short-term blended mobility – a short-term mobility combining a physical stay abroad with a virtual component.
Duration: usually 5–30 days of physical mobility + a virtual component.
Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) – a short-term intensive programme organised by a partner university combining virtual learning with a short physical mobility period.
Duration: usually 5–30 days of physical mobility.
Traineeship mobility – a professional traineeship in an organisation or institution abroad, which may be carried out as a physical or blended mobility.
Duration: usually 2–12 months (for short-term mobility 5–30 days + a virtual component).
A condition for the implementation of mobility is the existence of an Inter-institutional Agreement (IIA) between the Armed Forces Academy and the receiving institution. If such an agreement does not yet exist, it may be concluded additionally if the mobility proves to be beneficial.
2. Mobility Consultation
The student consults the planned mobility with their department, typically with the Head of Department or a lecturer, who will assess the relevance of the mobility to the student’s study programme and approve the student’s participation.
When selecting a long-term mobility, the student should verify the host institution in advance, particularly the course offer and the suitability of the mobility semester with regard to their study programme, in order to ensure recognition of the completed courses.
Subsequently, the student contacts the Department of Science and International Relations, which verifies the possibility of implementing the mobility, particularly the availability of places at the host institution, the availability of financial resources, and the administrative conditions of the mobility.
3. Application
The student submits an application for the mobility selection procedure within the specified deadline in the manner indicated in the specific mobility call. Together with the application, the student submits the required documents according to the conditions of the respective call or type of mobility.
4. Selection Procedure
Participants in mobility activities are selected through a selection procedure announced by the Armed Forces Academy or within a specific mobility programme organised by a partner institution.
Calls for applications are published mainly:
• on the website of the Armed Forces Academy in the ERASMUS+ / EMILYO section, or
• through departments, lecturers or organisational units of the academy, particularly in the case of short-term mobilities such as Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP) or short-term blended mobility.
The selection of participants is carried out by a designated selection committee or authorised representatives of the department in cooperation with the Department of Science and International Relations.
Selection Criteria
The following aspects are taken into consideration in particular:
relevance of the mobility topic to the student’s study programme or field of study, especially in the case of Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP) where participation criteria are usually defined in advance by the organising institution,
academic performance of the student,
language proficiency required to complete the mobility,
student motivation,
capacity of the host institution and availability of financial resources.
The selection of participants is carried out transparently, based on predefined criteria and in accordance with the rules of the Erasmus+ programme.
The results of the selection procedure are published in accordance with the conditions of the specific call. After the results are announced, successful students proceed according to the instructions of the Department of Science and International Relations.
