Vice-Rector for Education COL Aurel Sabó and the Director of Rectorate, LTC Martin Chovanec were invited by our partner institution, Italian Army Training Command and School of Applied Military Studies. The visit took place on June 7th 2023.

Brigadier General Marcello Orsi, Director of the Education Center, welcomed representatives of AFA on the grounds of military institution founded in 1739 and presented history of the school and structural division with an emphasis on the system of higher education of officers of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Italy in individual military specialties. The subsequent discussion was mainly aimed at clarifying the education system, which is carried out not only in Turin, but also at the military academy in Modena during the first two years of study. The school provides education for approximately 1,300 students, mainly from the Armed Forces of Italy, but also for civilian students in seven higher education programs, in which it closely cooperates with the University of Turin, one of the oldest universities in Europe, founded in the 14th century.

Further education is provided in 13 courses through the Tactical Center of Excellence and the Post Conflict Operations Study Center, which our representatives also visited.

At the end of the visit, there were discussed possibilities for cooperation mainly in the field of further education, but also a possible exchange of cadets within the ERASMUS+ program.
